SBI Probationary Officer Selection Process:

State Bank Of India Probationary Officer Selection Process Details. SBI Probationary Officer Selection Process consists of three stages – Phase I, Phase II and Phase III.

Phase I:

The preliminary examination consisting of objective 100-mark tests will be conducted online. The duration of this exam is 1 hour and consists of 3 parts as follows…

Applicants must pass all three tests achieving the passing marks set by the bank. Sufficient number of candidates will be selected for the main examination in each category as per the decision of the bank will be selected for the Main Examination.

Phase II:

Main Exam (total 250 marks)

  • Objective Tests (200 marks)
  • Descriptive Test (50 marks).

(i) The Objective Tests of three hours will consist of four parts

(ii) The Descriptive Test, duration 30 Mins with 50 marks will be Letter Writing and Essay (Test of English Language).

Note: Only the descriptive test papers of candidates who received a qualifying score in the objective tests and obtained a sufficiently high overall score in the objective test will be evaluated.

Phase III:

20 Marks for Group Exercises and 30 Marks for Interview. The aggregate scores of candidates qualifying in the objective and descriptive tests are arranged in descending order in each category. Sufficient number of candidates in each category will be invited for group exercises and interview as per the decision of the bank. The marks for group exercises and interviews will be determined by the bank.

Final Selection:

The marks obtained in the preliminary examination (Phase I) will not be included in the selection and only the marks obtained in the objective and descriptive test of the main examination (Phase II) will be added to the marks obtained in General Exercise and Interview (Phase III) for the preparation of final Merit List. Candidates must pass phases II and III separately. The marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) will be converted to out of 75, and the marks obtained in the Group Exercises and Interview (out of 50 marks) will be converted to out of to 25.

The final list of results is obtained by compiling the converted scores of written tests and group exercises and interviews out of 100 in each category. The selection is made from among the best candidates in each category. The results of the candidates qualified for the group exercise and interview and the list of the finally selected candidates will be published on the bank’s website. The final shortlist will be published in Employment News / Rozgar Samachar and also on the Bank’s website.
